William Burtney Hall, 86, of Lexington died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born July 14, 1930, in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Joshua Wilson Hall and Louise Coleman Deacon Hall.

Mr. Hall was a member of the Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church and served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Burlington Industries after 49 years of service.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Ethel Armstrong Hall of Lexington; one son, Gregory Wilson Hall of Chester; one daughter, Kimberly Hall LeHoux of Arkansas; three brothers, Oscar Hall, Nelson Hall and Ronnie Hall, and one sister, Ella Belle Clark, all of Lexington; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim Bollinger and Rev. Douglas Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. 

Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at the funeral home.
