Huffman Leads Lady Blues To 57-14 Win Over Wildcats

Saturday, Jan. 5 -- The Parry McCluer High School girls basketball team coasted to a 57-14 win over Rockbridge County on Saturday in Buena Vista.

The Fighting Blues (7-2) led 26-0 after the first quarter and were up 31-0 in the second quarter before Jorden Dunn scored the Wildcats’ first two points on a jump shot.

Hailey Huffman led the Blues with 17 points, sinking three 3-pointers, Emma Camden added 16 points, Madison Dunlap scored eight points, and Peyton Mohler chipped in seven points.

Dunn led RC (3-7) with four points, Zoe Camden scored three points, and Graceon Armstrong pulled down 10 rebounds and scored two points.

With the win, the Blues completed a sweep of the season series with the Wildcats. PM defeated RC 62-22 on Dec. 20 in Lexington.

The Wildcats will return to Valley District action on Tuesday when they play host to Turner Ashby, starting with junior varsity action at 5:30 p.m. The Blues will travel to Bath County on Tuesday for Pioneer District action, starting with the JV game at 5:30 p.m.
