Memories Of Buena Vista Wanted

An oral history workshop – one of the inaugural events of Buena Vista's 125th anniversary celebration – will be held this Saturday, March 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Dickinson building at 2037 Magnolia Ave.

A presentation on oral histories will be followed by opportunities for participants to share their stories about Buena Vista that will be recorded for posterity. “We want to get stories about Buena Vista's history so they don't get lost,” explained Brian Brown, the city's economic development director.

Marie Shiraki, an intern for the city, and Edith Kretsch, Glen Maury park director, are spearheading plans to celebrate Buena Vista's 125th anniversary throughout 2017. The celebration's theme is “It's a Wonderful Life!”
