Murphy Tallies 12 Points As RC Cruises By Colonels

Thursday, April 6 -- Kaitlyn Murphy totaled 12 points to lead the Rockbridge County High School girls lacrosse team to a 20-3 victory over William Fleming in Lexington.

Two days after racking up 11 goals in a 19-13 home win over E.C. Glass, the Mount Union-bound senior notched seven goals and five assists as the Wildcats (3-4) picked up their second consecutive victory. Murphy now has 129 career goals, which ranks in the Top 5 all-time at RC.

Jordan Dameron added four goals for the Wildcats, while Mary Wilson Grist recorded three goals and two assists. Emma Faust and Sophia Carlucci chipped in two goals apiece, and Genevieve Corazzo had one goal, one assist and a team-high 10 ground balls.

Sheridan Saunders scored all three William Fleming goals, and Abby Wilson made eight saves.

RC returns to action on April 17 with a 6:30 p.m. road game against E.C. Glass.
