PM’s May Advances To State Swim Meet

Thursday, Feb. 7 – Parry McCluer High School freshman swimmer Kensey May advanced to the state meet by placing fifth in the girls’ 100-yard freestyle at the Region 1C/2C meet on Thursday at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center. May finished in 1:04.98, and the top five swimmers in each individual race advanced to the state meet, which will include swimmers from Class 1 and Class 2 and will take place next Thursday, Feb. 14 at the SwimRVA Collegiate School Aquatics Center in Richmond. May also finished eighth in the 50-yard freestyle in 28.92 seconds, a personal record.

Teammate Taylorann Cash completed a strong freshman year by placing eighth in the girls' 100-yard freestyle in 1:08.61 and finishing ninth in the 50-yard freestyle in 29.52 seconds, a personal record.

As a team, with only two swimmers competing, the Blues placed ninth of 10 teams, finishing ahead of Narrows.
