PM’s Patterson Wins District Singles Title In Girls Tennis

Monday, May 14 – Parry McCluer High School girls tennis player Maggie Patterson won the Pioneer District singles championship on Monday at Bath County.

Patterson, a junior and the the Blues’ No. 1 singles player, coasted to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Bath County’s Jolene McLain in the semifinals. In the finals, Patterson defeated Michaela Martin of Narrows 6-3, 7-5.

In the district doubles tournament, Patterson will team up with senior Ashlen Hazelwood on Tuesday at Bath County.
