PM Girls Tennis Duo Wins District Doubles Title

Tuesday, May 15 – Parry McCluer High School girls tennis players Maggie Patterson and Ashlen Hazelwood teamed up to win the Pioneer District doubles championship on Tuesday at Bath County.

In the semifinals, the PM duo defeated Eastern Montgomery’s top doubles team 6-1, 6-1. They then went on to cruise past the top pair from Narrows 6-0, 6-0 in the finals. The win came a day after Patterson won the district singles title.

Next up the Fighting Blues (9-1), who won the Pioneer District team championship over Narrows last Thursday, will compete in the regional tournament next week, with the date, opponent and time to be determined. After team play, Patterson will play in the regional singles tournament, and Patterson and Hazelwood will play in the regional doubles tournament.
