PM Girls Top Radford In Conference Semis

Wednesday, Feb. 15 -- The top-seeded Parry McCluer High School girls basketball team bested fifth-seeded Radford 45-26 in the semifinals of the Western Gate Conference 45 tournament in Buena Vista.

Peyton Mohler scored 18 points to lead the Fighting Blues (23-1), who will face second-seeded Narrows in the conference championship on Friday. The Green Wave (18-6) downed third-seeded Covington 63-54 in Wednesday's other semifinal.

Madison Dunlap added 10 points for PM, while Hailey Huffman chipped in eight markers and Maggie Patterson finished with six. Bailee Cox and Madison Page scored six points apiece for the Bobcats (9-14).

The Blues will host Friday's Conference 45 final, which is slated for a 5:30 p.m. tip. By virtue of their semifinal victories, both PM and Narrows have already qualified for next week's 1A West Region tournament.
