RC Boys Upset Broadway To Advance To District Finals, 52-41

Monday, Feb. 12  – The Rockbridge County High School boys basketball team earned a 52-41 win at Broadway in the Valley District semifinals on Monday night.

The third-seeded Wildcats (15-9 overall, 6-6 district) advanced to the district finals, where they’ll take on host and top seed Spotswood on Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. With the win, the Wildcats avenged two regular-season losses to the second-seeded Gobblers and clinched a berth in the Region 3C tournament.

RC’s Nathan Bailey led all scorers with 23 points, sinking three 3-pointers, and Triniti Stores pulled down 14 rebounds.

Spotswood, which is undefeated in the district, advanced to the finals by defeating fifth-seed Fort Defiance 56-29 on Monday.
