Retired Maj. Verable Lancaster “Mac” McCloud passed away at Banner University Medical Center, Tucson, Ariz., on Sept. 30, 2017.

Retired Maj. Verable Lancaster “Mac” McCloud passed away at Banner University Medical Center, Tucson, Ariz., on Sept. 30, 2017.

He was born on Aug. 4, 1931, the ninth of 12 children, to Mr. and Mrs. Willie McCloud (deceased) of Mt. Airy, N.C. 

He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Anece; two daughters, Aja Siobhan of Lexington and Carla Queipo (Mark) of Sacramento, Calif.; a grandson, Dillon Christensen of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, Donald McCloud of Mt Airy, N.C.; and three sisters, Delores Hale of Flint, Mich., Jessie Brim of Mt Airy, N.C., and Ruth Mabe of Aurora, Colo.; a brother-in-law, James Faison of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and various nieces, nephews and cousins.

Well loved and highly respected by numerous friends, acquaintances, and colleagues throughout his 86 years; he will be sorely missed. 

In lieu of flowers, his family encourages contributions to veteran organizations.
