Timothy Edward Turner died April 11, 2017
Timothy Edward Turner, the son of the late Lewis Edward Turner and Evelyn Anthony and stepmother Isabell Turner, was called home by God on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal randparents, and special brother-in-law, Carlton Smith.
Timothy graduated Natural Bridge High School; studied automotive technology at Virginia Western Community College, and joined the U.S. Army. Most recent employment included the Natural Bridge Juvenile Correctional Center (NBJCC) and Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital.
His community duties were various: Town Council member for the town of Glasgow 2006-2008; worked with the Rockbridge food pantry.
He was a past master of Joppa Lodge No. 329.
Member of Union Baptist Church, he was secretary of the Deacon Ministry, Union Baptist budget committee, secretary/treasurer of the male chorus and secretary of the Trustee Ministry.
Timothy leaves to cherish his beloved wife, Betty Turner; two daughters, Jessica Turner and Tanya (Leland) Wrice; one godson, Clifton Turner Jr.; three grandchildren, Josiah Saunders, Leland and Carrington Wrice; one brother, Clifton Turner Sr.; two sisters, Verna Smith, Donna (Kent)Dunn; three sisters-in-law, Patricia Bruce, Linda Bruce and Evelyn Browne; two brothers-in-law, Allen Bruce and Roger Bruce; three step-brothers, Sterling Stores Jr., Thomas Stores and Darin (Lynn) Stores; and one step-sister, Laverne (Anthony) Cooper; special brother-in-law, Kent Dunn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral was held at Union Baptist Church in Glasgow on Saturday, April 15.
