Two Arrested In Connection With Vehicle Incidents

Sunday, April 16 - The Rockbridge County Sheriff's Office reported today that two men have been arrested in connection with  a vehicle theft and vehicle break-ins in the Valley Pike area from earlier this month. The following is the statement from police:

During the first week of April, Sheriff’s Deputies investigated and cleared a string of incidents involving a vehicle theft, a firearm theft, and tampering with motor vehicles that took place in the Meadowview/Valley Pike area of Rockbridge County.

 

David Patterson, a 20 year old white male, of Willow Springs Road, Lexington and Leland Umbarger, an 18 year old white male, of Lloyd Tolley Road, Natural Bridge Station have been charged with the following:

 

Patterson:

  1. 18.2-95 Grand Larceny of a Motor Vehicle (Felony)
  2. 18.2-95 Grand Larceny of a Firearm (Felony)
  3. 18.2-108.01 Steal with Intent to Sell (Felony)
  4. 18.2-248.1 Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana (Felony)
  5. 18.2-147 Enter Vehicle with Intent to Commit a Crime (Misdemeanor)
  6. 18.2-147 Enter Vehicle with Intent to Commit a Crime (Misdemeanor)
  7. 18.2-147 Enter Vehicle with Intent to Commit a Crime (Misdemeanor)
  8. 4.1-305 Underage Possession of Alcohol (Misdemeanor)

  1. 18.2-95 Grand Larceny of a Motor Vehicle (Felony)
  2. 18.2-95 Grand Larceny of a Firearm (Felony)
  3. 18.2-147 Enter Vehicle with Intent to Commit a Crime (Misdemeanor)
