Virginia Marlene Miller Seaman, 65, of Clifton Forge passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 24, 2018, at her home.

Virginia Marlene Miller Seaman, 65, of Clifton Forge passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 24, 2018, at her home.

Born Dec. 13, 1953, in Rockbridge County she was a daughter of Mamie Hall Miller and the late James Melvin Miller.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a son Jason Melvin Seaman.

She was an educator for 33 years with the Alleghany County Public School System, and was a member of Lauderdale A.R. Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her mother those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Julian Massie “Pete” Seaman Jr.; a daughter, Lindsay Seaman; a sister, Pat Mason and husband Robert; sister-in-law Harriet Allen; an aunt, Bob Powell; two special boys, Austyn Christman and Zachary Christman; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, her best friend Sandra Rubin, a beloved companion Pepper, and her many students.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Benjamin Dowling III.  There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lauderdale ARP Church 300 S. Main St. Lexington, VA 24450.
