Geneva Barnwell Fogus, 77, of Natural Bridge, died suddenly Friday, July 23, 2010, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born April 6, 1933, in White Sulfur Springs, she was a daughter of Hugh Dillard Barnwell Jr. and Carmen Elizabeth Hylton Barnwell.
Mrs. Fogus was retired as teller at Central Fidelity Bank and worked part-time at the Natural Bridge Wax Museum. She was a former treasurer of the Women’s Ministry at the Appalachian Conference and served in women’s ministry of several churches.
Surviving are her husband, the Rev. Conald W. Fogus; a son, Vaughn A. Fogus of Lynchburg; a daughter, Joanna F. Irby of Natural Bridge Station; three brothers, Thomas Lee Barnwell, Hugh Dillard Barnwell and Miles Amory Barnwell.
The funeral was conducted Sunday, July 25, at Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. W. David Bain and the Rev. W. A. Mills. Burial followed in the Appalachian Conference Pentecostal Holiness Church cemetery in Dublin.
Arrangements were by Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
