Rebecca Wilder, from the Virginia Cooperative Extension, presented an eight-part Slow Cooker class in January and February at the Maury River Senior Center. She reviewed safety tips and slow cooker techniques and offered taste testing of tried and true recipes.
Part of Mount Atlas Road, Va. 716, will be closed for four weeks beginning Monday, March 20. This closure allows the Virginia Department of Transportation to replace the bridge over Mouse Run, between Stuart Road and Maury River Road.

Monday night's "big snow" didn't amount to much in the Rockbridge area, with only an inch or so seen in most places. It did force the cancellation of school for the three local school divisions, however, and several mostly minor accidents occurred during the snowfall.
