Local painter Laure Stevens-Lubin is exhibiting at the Branch Museum of Design in Richmond, in the show “Re-Think Landscape Design” curated by Anna Aquino, with Tracy Harris Bernabo, and Donata Kraskauskaite, highlighting the vital role of landscape design in conservation.
Stevens-Lubin will be showing a number of works from two separate series, “After Audubon: Abiding in the Anthropocene” (2024) and “Watershed: Ecosystems of the Chesapeake Bay” (2022). A lifelong bird watcher and back-yard naturalist, Stevens-Lubin’s work explores “human systems” and “ecosystems,” their divergences and intersections.
The show runs from March 6 to June 8, with an opening reception on March 13.
