Mountain Gateway Community College has extended the deadline for applications to the MG-TEC IT Academy to May 1.
The MG-TEC IT Academy is designed for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors interested in exploring the rapidly growing field of information technology. The program offers an in-depth look into IT careers, including areas like cybersecurity, robotics and technical support. “Perfect for students with a passion for problem-solving, technology, or helping others with tech challenges, this program is an ideal introduction to the world of IT,” said a spokesperson.
Participants will earn college credit while gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology. From flying drones and building robots to learning ethical hacking techniques and protecting businesses from cyber threats, the academy offers students an engaging and dynamic learning environment.
The MG-TEC IT Academy provides specialized pathways in cybersecurity, cloud computing, and technical support, allowing students to tailor their learning to their career interests. With the IT sector projected to grow by 11 percent between 2019 and 2029, the academy equips students with critical skills and industry certifications to launch their careers or pursue further education.
