Workshop Saturday
During March and April, Grace Episcopal Church is highlighting the history and use of illumination and other techniques in the creation of the 21st century “The Saint John’s Bible.”
On Saturday, March 22, at 10 a.m., a calligraphy workshop the church parish hall at 123 W. Washington St. will give participants a sense of the skill involved in creating this 21st century illuminated Bible and individual help completing their own calligraphy sample. The workshop is suitable for middle school age and up.
“The Saint John’s Bible” copy of the Gospels and the Acts is present at all events for participants to look, touch and read. The Bible is also available in the church each Thursday from 1 to 6 p.m. throughout the Lenten season, with a visio divina at 1 p.m. each Thursday, focusing each week on a different illumination and reading.
