The Collierstown United Methodist Church’s United Women in Faith will meet on Thursday, March 2, at 6 p.m. at the church. Edith Rhodenizer will lead the evening’s program.

Duaine Fitzgerald supplied the pulpit at the Collierstown Presbyterian Church on Sunday, Feb. 26, and special music was provided by Peter Del Vecchio. This week the Collierstown Presbyterian Church’s Night Circle will meet tomorrow, Thursday, March 2, at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Rosalea Potter will lead Lesson 7 in the Bible study “Sabbath - The Gift of Rest.” Area women are invited to attend the study or join virtually by Facebook Live from the church’s Facebook page. On Saturday, March 4, at 9 a.m. construction on the church’s playground will begin. Volunteers are needed to assist with assembling the playground equipment.

A community roadside cleanup day sponsored by the Effinger Ruritan Club will be held on Saturday, March 18. Volunteers and club members are asked to assemble at the Palmer Community Center at 9 a.m. to receive trash collection bags and road assignments. In the event of inclement weather, the roadside cleanup day will be postponed until Saturday, March 25. Area residents are encouraged to join the club’s efforts by picking up trash and cleaning the roadways around their property lines, churches, and other locations.
