Hoofbeats Therapeutic Riding Center invites community members to a volunteer training session Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to noon at 662 Mount Atlas Road.
Hoofbeats’ mission is “Horses helping people.” Hoofbeats provides a soft place to land for children and adults who are struggling with physical, mental, emotional, learning and spiritual issues. The program has been operating for 30 years.
“You don’t have to have experience with horses to volunteer at Hoofbeats,” said Carol Branscome, program director. “You just have to love people, nature and animals.”
Volunteers enrich riders’ experience in a variety of ways. They may assist a rider during a lesson, comfort someone who’s dispirited, beautify the grounds with flowers or artwork, provide handyman or organizational skills and more.
“Come share your talents with us,” said Branscome. “You can make a difference at Hoofbeats.”
