This past weekend was the start of the annual Rockbridge Area Community Cleanup, which saw a number of groups hitting the roadsides to pick up litter. Among those was a contingent from the Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office, including investigators Kyle Gosney and Ryan Mc-Cullough (seen above). The sheriff’s office also posted the photo at left of overflowing trash seen at the U.S. 60 Dumpster site on Monday morning, reminding residents not to leave trash outside the Dumpsters when they are full. The Dumpster site at Timber Ridge was in the same shape Monday morning. County officials say C&S Disposal provides daily dumping and cleaning of the sites, but sometimes, particularly this time of year when the weather is good, these sites can get overrun by Monday morning before they are cleaned again. County residents are reminded that seven staffed collection centers are available seven days a week.
