Bank of Botetourt recently announced the retirement of Karen R. Newbill, vice president and market manager of the bank’s Buchanan, Eagle Rock, and Natural Bridge offices. In conjunction with this transition, the bank announced the promotion of Jenny M. Petty to branch manager.
Newbill retires after a 27-year tenure at Bank of Botetourt and more than 40 years in the banking industry.
She began her career with First Virginia and spent two decades with Central Fidelity before joining Bank of Botetourt in 1997. She was instrumental in opening the Bank’s Bonsack/ 460 office and later worked at the Daleville office before becoming branch manager of the Eagle Rock office and ultimately market manager.
Petty, who is succeeding Newbill as branch manager, began her career at Bank of Botetourt as a universal banker and head teller in the Natural Bridge office. She brings over 30 years of banking experience to her new role.
