This past Sunday, the congregation of High Bridge Presbyterian Church surprised the Rev. Steve Willis for his upcoming birthday by wearing plaid in honor of his Scottish heritage.
Our congregation was saddened to receive word of the death of Olive Whisler on Sunday, March 23, at the Glebe Retirement Community. There will be a reception for family and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, at the Glebe.
High Bridge will observe Holy Communion on Sunday, April 6.
The men’s Bible study group will meet Wednesday at 5:30 in the church fellowship hall.
The afternoon circle meets Tuesday, April 8, with Carol Tolley at 1 p.m. Connie Powell will lead the Bible study.
The Natural Bridge/Glasgow food pantry mourns the passing of Gloria Smith. She served on the board along with her son Ed, as voting members representing Faith Baptist Church until health issues prevented them from doing so. Her memorial service was conducted at Harrison Funeral Home on March 24 by her pastor, Terry Bostwick.
The food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, and close at 11 a.m. The High Bridge congregation is collecting pasta and pasta sauce for the food pantry during the month of April.
