The Collierstown United Methodist Women in Faith are making for sale homemade peanut butter and coconut cream Easter eggs. The cost of the 6-ounce eggs is $ 6 e ach. O rders c an b e placed by calling the church at (540) 463-7717 or (540) 463-3408 or by contacting any church member.
The Collierstown United Methodist Charge will hold a Holy Thursday service at 7 p.m. on April 17 at the Collierstown Church. An Easter sunrise service will be held at the Seclusion at 6:45 a.m. on Sunday, April 20, followed by breakfast at the Collierstown United Methodist Church at 8 a.m. The Easter worship service will be held in the sanctuary of the Collierstown Church at 9 a.m.
The Effinger Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 19, at the pavilion on the grounds of the Collierstown Baptist Church from 11 a.m. until noon. T he Effinger Ruritan Club has invited the Easter Bunny to meet and be photographed with the children in attendance. Families are invited to bring their children to enjoy hunting Easter eggs and other activities. The sponsoring community’s churches for the event are Union View Advent Christian Church, Collierstown Baptist Church, Collierstown Presbyterian Church, Collierstown United Methodist Church, Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church, Oxford Presbyterian Church, and the Rapps Mill Church.
The Collierstown Presbyterian Church will hold a 6:30 a.m. sunrise worship service on April 20 on top of the Cemetery Hill. Following the service there will be a traditional breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast, fruit and pastries in the church’s fellowship hall for all to enjoy. At 11 a.m. the congregation will hold its Easter worship service in the church sanctuary.
The Collierstown Presbyterian Church’s Cemetery Committee wants to remind families and friends of loved ones buried in the church cemetery that artificial flower arrangements, decorations and other items need to be removed from grave sites to facilitate mowing of the cemetery grounds. Items remaining on the graves or ground surrounding the tombstones that are not secured to the tombstones will be removed by Cemetery Committee personnel.
