On Good Friday, April 18, at 7 p.m., the sanctuary choir of Manly Memorial Baptist Church will lead a worship service utilizing the Passiontide cantata, “Calvary’s Mountain,” which is based on the content and flow of the ancient Tenebrae service.
This solemn worship experience will feature readings, choral and congregational singing, and the extinguishing of candles to recount the timeline of Jesus’ life from his betrayal in the Garden of Gethsemane to his burial in a borrowed tomb.
A nursery will be provided. Manly Memorial Baptist Church meets at 202 S. Main St. in Lexington. For more information, contact the church office at (540) 463-4181 or Dr. Gregory Parker, worship leader, at worship@manlybaptist.com.
