Wade Promoted To Sergeant At RCSO

On behalf of the Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Tony Mcfaddin has a n nou nced the promotion of Chris Wade to the rank of sergeant.

Wade is a 2005 graduate of Parry Mc-Cluer High School. In 2011, he began his career in law enforcement with the Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office. He is a graduate of the Central Shenandoah Criminal Justice Academy and is a Department of Criminal Justice Services general instructor. He also holds instructorships in firearms and defensive tactics.

Wade has served as a member of the Rockbridge County Regional Special Weapons and Tactics Team and has been a K-9 handler since 2021 with his K-9 partner Jimmy. He is a three time recipient of the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Award. In his most recent assignment, he served as a corporal in the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division.

In addition to his numerous duties within the Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office, Wade is also duly sworn with the Virginia State Police and assigned to the James River Regional Drug Task Force.

Sheriff McFaddin said, “Strong leadership in enforcement starts with those who put community first; Sgt. Wade has proven time and time again that he is ready for this next step, and I have no doubt he will continue to serve with honor and integrity.”
