April 7, 2025 Editor, The News-Gazette: Opinion writer Mike Lowry is unconcerned about Trump’s lawless Stalinesque approach to governance. Who cares about due process? Round up any brown people; ship them off in defiance of court orders, even if they’re the wrong people, here legally. Just brag you’re a tough guy. When caught, call it a clerical error.
This marvelous economy that Trump inherited. Lowry was a bit premature on what the “stable genius” did with that. He might want to check the Dow and his IRA. As for Elon, maybe Lowry missed the part where Elon’s “savings” moved some decimal points so billions were actually millions, and others were programs from the Bush administration or programs already cancelled. And all the money saved, it’s no secret, is for Trump, the billionaires who fund campaigns and corporations who send jobs overseas, so why is Lowry celebrating that?
Hope he doesn’t need SS or Medicare, or anyone to answer government phones or do medical research. Bobby Jr., who has no medical training, is canceling all that stuff, and hope he’s not a veteran, because he’d be out of luck there. All this good Trump stuff he left out!
And the part where Hegseth and the brain trust conducted war plans on nonsecured phones so the Russians, Chinese and Iranians, you know, our enemies, could listen in. With Lowry’s level of perspicacious insight, he would fit right in with the current crop of people who have zero expertise but salute the dear leader and tell him how wonderful he is.
