High Bridge

Esther Pennington, 540-291-2629 Visitors this past Sunday at High Bridge Presbyterian Church were Scott and Becky Hannah’s son, Jason, and his family of Grand Rapids, Mich. Also visiting were Brad Myers’ mother from Roanoke, and Mary Gilbert of Colorado. Mary’s mother, Kathy Gilbert, recently returned from visiting son Daniel, daughter- in-law Hannah, and new grandson, Henry Robert Gilbert of Colorado.

There will be a reception for the family and friends of Olive Whisler from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, at the Glebe.

On Sunday, April 13, High Bridge will celebrate Palm Sunday with our traditional children’s procession. We will also collect a special offering called the One Great Hour of Sharing. Scholarship applications for upcoming high school graduates should be forwarded to Scott Hannah by April 13.

On April 17, there will be a special Maundy Thursday Communion service at 7 p.m.

We will celebrate Easter Sunday on April 20 with church services and Sunday school at regular times. Members are invited to bring an Easter lily to decorate the sanctuary.

High Bridge is preparing for its 255th anniversary celebration at the end of September.

The food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, and close at 11 a.m. The High Bridge congregation is collecting peanut butter and jelly for the food pantry during the month of April.
