The Browns Creek Fire, located in Amherst County approximately 3/4 miles south of the Lynchburg Reservoir is currently holding at 50% containment and is approximately 64 acres. There is a total of 33 personnel on scene with two type six engines. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
The Forest Service is working with Amherst County Fire & EMS, Pedlar Volunteer Fire Department, and the Virginia Department of Forestry.
