‘Women Who Changed WWII’ Author To Speak Here

The George C. Marshall Foundation will host a lecture by author U.S. Army retired Maj. Gen. Mari K. Eder on her book, “The Girls Who Stepped out of Line: Untold Stories of the Women Who Changed World War II,” on Thursday, March 9, at 5:30 p.m., at its building located on the Virginia Military Institute’s parade ground.

The George C. Marshall Foundation will host a lecture by author U.S. Army retired Maj. Gen. Mari K. Eder on her book, “The Girls Who Stepped out of Line: Untold Stories of the Women Who Changed World War II,” on Thursday, March 9, at 5:30 p.m., at its building located on the Virginia Military Institute’s parade ground.

The event is free, but reservations are required.

Eder is a renowned speaker and author, and has served as director of public affairs at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Germany, and as adjunct professor and lecturer in communications and public diplomacy at the NATO School in Germany, and at Sweden’s International Training Command. She served in senior positions at the Pentagon, in the Department of Defense, and on the Army staff.

Eder’s second book in the series titled, “The Girls Who Fought Crime: The Untold True Story of the Country’s First Female Investigator and Her Crime Fighting Squad,” features groundbreaking crime fighters and is due to be released in August. A reception and book signing will follow the lecture.

Eder will answer questions from in-person guests and stream participants following the presentation.
