Rockbridge Bird Club Walk Saturday

Rockbridge Bird Club members invite area residents to join them for their first outing of the new year this Saturday morning, Jan. 14, at Boxerwood.

Boxerwood walks, scheduled on the second Saturday of each month, are an excellent introduction for those new to birding, said a spokeswoman. During the December walk, participants spotted 26 species.

Birders will meet in the parking lot at Boxerwood (963 Ross Road) at 8:30 a.m. for a two-hour stroll. Participants should dress for the weather, bring binoculars, and wear sturdy footwear.
