March 7, 1973

Lexington City Council scheduled two public hearings for April to enable the Rockbridge Mental Health Clinic to obtain clearances for construction of its proposed mental health center adjacent to the regional health department at White and Myers streets. - Brownsburg was nominated by the Virginia Historic Landmarks commission for inclusion in the National Register for Historic Places. - Handsome hand-hewn beams and a fireplace were revealed in the interior restorations of the Jacob Ruff House on North Main Street.

March 12, 2003

A teller at the Planters Bank in Natural Bridge Station was robbed at knife point and the perpetrator made away with $3,900. The robber fled on foot, jumping 6 feet down an embankment and onto the railroad tracks. - Rockbridge County High School students Lulu Hou, Juston Ward and Kendal Schneiter were named as finalists for National Merit Scholarship Awards. - The lot for the Buena Vista Fire Department’s new building was cleared and a sign was posted on the property indicating that the lot was the future home of the fire department.
