I hope that all had a wonderful Christmas celebrating the birth of the Christ Child.

In spite of the cold weather, many churches held services throughout the week. I am thankful, as many others area also, that we did not lose power from the wind downing trees.

Happy birthday wishes are being sent to Glenda Mays, Haylie Hite, Bonnie McKee, Nellie Cash, Barbara Templeton, Gary Price and Paul Ritter.

Happy anniversary wishes to Alan and Geena Fitzgerald, Paul and Valerie Ritter and Richard and Lark Powell.

Better health prayers for Terry Groah, Tyler Clem, Mary Clark, Becky Hite and Tommy Groah.

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Sue Glenn, Carl Deacon, Joyce Campbell and Debbie Caldwell. Joyce and I were in the same Avon district for many years. Debbie and I met when I started Wenonah Elementary School in 1957.

Congratulations to the following students for making the dean’s list at their respective schools: Abby Funkhouser of Fairfield at the University of New Hampshire; Oliva Persinger of Raphine at Baylor University; and Elizabeth Hall of Raphine at Western Governors University College of Business.

I went to visit my granddaughter Brooke Landes and two of her children, Dixie Lynn and Holton. I really did have a good time with them. Her husband, Hunter, and son, Blayne, were bear hunting on the last day.
