The Collierstown Presbyterian Church’s Cemetery Committee wants to remind families and friends of loved ones buried in the church cemetery that artificial flower arrangements, decorations and other items need to be removed from grave sites to facilitate mowing of the cemetery grounds. Items remaining on the graves or ground surrounding the tombstones or grave markers will be removed by Cemetery Committee personnel by the end of March.

As the celebration of Easter approaches, the community churches are providing a variety of activities and special services. Information Collierstown

from each congregation will be shared in this column as it becomes available. The information on the activities of the Collierstown United Methodist Charge was featured in the March 15 column and will be featured again in the March 29 column prior to Palm Sunday.

The community extends sympathy to the family of Nancy Carol Higgins Clark who passed away on March 15. Nancy was a member of the Collierstown United Methodist Church and a much-loved Collierstown resident. She had a deep faith and her commitment to Christianity was evident as she extended hospitality to others. She wore many hats as a wife, mother, grandmother to three generations and sister. She loved putting together jigsaw puzzles and cooking for her large family. The memories of her kindness, service, and concern for others will be treasured for years to come.

Information on community events and other seasonal activities will be shared again in this column next week. Please send information for inclusion in the Collierstown News to 29 Desmac Lane, Lexington, VA 24450 (mack53@centurylink. net) or call (540) 4637652.
