Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

January started off with spring like weather, then the wintry mix arrived this past weekend.

A number of folks took advantage of the holiday break to take a trip to Florida, including the Jeremy Wright family, the Wesley Galford family, Kat Bishop and daughter Lily, and Mark and Rhonda Rogers and grandchildren Isaiah and Makenzie.

D ue to the special election on Tuesday to fill the seat of the late Ronnie Campbell, the Glasgow Town Council meeting has been moved to tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 7 at the Glasgow Library.

The Glasgow Volunteer Fire Department held its annual award and installation of officers banquet on Saturday, Jan. 7, at its building in Glasgow. Guest speaker was Tom Camden. A number of service awards and special recognition awards were presented to various members of the department, including a framed certificate for 44 years of service to life member J.C. Rice and another for 59 years of service to life member Roger Bradley.

The Jonathan Overstreet family spent the Christmas holidays with his mother, Sharon Crowley, and other relatives in South Carolina.

Friends of June Cash are planning a 90th birthday celebration for her on Feb. 5 at Glasgow Baptist Church.
