Arthur "Buddy" Crist Jr., 84, of Lexington died March 21

Arthur Reece "Buddy" Crist Jr., 84 of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at his home.

Born April 4, 1938, in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Arthur Reed Crist and Lula Virginia Breedlove Crist.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Isabel, Margaret, Helen and Catherine; and a brother, Bobby.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Virginia A. Crist; daughters, Missy Crist Rowsey (Chris), Karen Crist Tolley (Jerry), and Donna L. Morena; sisters, Dorothy Crist Camden, Louise Crist Baber, Lula Mae Crist Deardorff, and Betty Ann Crist Akers; grandchildren, Travis W. Tolley, Justin W. Tolley, Andrew Crist Rowsey, and Lauren Rowsey Ganger (Joe); great-grandchildren, Tristyn L. Tolley, Jayce W. Tolley, Jaedyn W. Tolley, and Jackson C. Tolley; great-great -granddaughter Mila Drue Ganger; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special canine companion, Georgia Mae.

Mr. Crist owned and operated Crist Electric for over 30 years. Buddy was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but more than that, he loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 27, at Green Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Benjamin Dowling officiating. There will be no visitation held at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions  be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
