Jones Scores Five Goals To Lead RC Girls Past JR, 6-2

 

Sunday, March 26 – Sophomore Madelyn Jones scored five goals to lead the Rockbridge County High School girls soccer team to a 6-2 road win over James River on Friday night in Buchanan.

Sophie Vaught scored the other goal to help the Wildcats (2-2) earn their second consecutive win. The Wildcats broke away from a 2-2 tie late in the first half.

Sofia Smith dished out two assists for RC, and Eleanor Dare, Lydia Kendall, Hannah Wells and Abby Hickman each added one assist.

Drew Whitson scored both goals for the Knights (0-2).

RC junior goalkeeper Sophia Perlozzo made five saves.

The Wildcats will play host to Stuarts Draft on Monday, starting with junior varsity action at 5:30 p.m., with the varsity game scheduled for 7 p.m.
