4-H Summer Camp registration will begin Wednesday, April 26, and is open to all youth ages 9-13.
Once again, camp registration will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on the first day of registration only; afterwards it will be regular office hours at the Rockbridge Extension Office located at 150 S. Main St., Lexington. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Rockbridge will share the 4-H camping experience with Bedford and Halifax counties. The camp is located at the W.E. Skelton 4-H Educational Conference Center at Smith Mountain Lake, and this year the camp cluster week is July 17-21.
Campers will have a chance to enjoy the great outdoors while making new friends and having lots of fun, said a spokeswoman. Activities at camp include archery, artistic adventures, canoeing, climbing and challenge courses, fishing, golf, kayaking, small animals, sports, swimming, and more.
Registration forms are available now, and can be picked up at the Extension office to be returned starting April 26. Registration is accepted on a firstcome basis. A $100 deposit (nonrefundable) is required at the time of registration, and the remaining balance is due Thursday, June 8; as is all associated camp paperwork.
The total cost of camp is $350 and includes lodging, meals, snacks, T-shirt, all activities, and transportation. Financial aid applications are also available for those needing assistance; a $100 deposit is still required.
