Coming up at Faith Baptist Church is a Men’s Prayer Breakfast today, March 29, at 8 a.m., Ladies Fellowship Time on April 3 at 10 a.m. with special speaker Carolyn Dale Newell, and Easter Communion on April 6 at 7 p.m.

Many thanks to the Rev. Dr. Jan Fuller for leading a service of Holy Eucharist this past Sunday at St. John’s as well as to Bert Buford and Josh Gardner for providing music for the service. Thanks also to Steve Beck for serving as lessons reader. And thanks to everyone who helped clean up after coffee hour.

Next week’s service at St. John’s, Episcopal Church will be Liturgy of the Palms led by Dave VanOsten. A service for Maundy Thursday will be held on April 6 at 6 p.m. and the Rev. Bob Brodie will lead a service of Holy Eucharist for Easter Sunday.

There will be an informal gathering in memory of Wayne Cash on Sunday, April 2, at 3 p.m. This will be held at the Locher Tract at the circle at the end of James River Road. Come and share a story and hang out with some of Wayne’s friends. There will be plenty of room in this outdoor setting. This was one of Wayne’s favorite walking destinations.

Mid-Mountain on Arnolds Valley Road will be hosting an event coming up on April 15 at 3 p.m. Their Facebook event page says, “Join us for our first in-person event, a launch party for a journal reflecting on our germination year and celebration of our food forest planting with performances from Timothy Bailey & The Humans and our All Trans House Band! $10 is the suggested donation, but no one turned away for lack of funds.

“MidMountain is a five-acre retreat focused on growing a resilient creative community by sharing time and natural space to develop and reflect upon the art of storytelling while literally nourishing our neighbors. We must imagine a better future where we celebrate differences that make us collectively stronger to grow that future.”
