The annual Community Palm Sunday Parade returns to the streets of Lexington for the first time since the start of the pandemic this Sunday, April 2.
Sponsored by the Rockbridge Area Minister’s Alliance, the event will begin at Hopkins Green at 9:30 a.m.
“Participants will receive palms as we walk, sing and pray for our community,” said the Rev. McKinley Williams, chair of the alliance. “We will march to the steps of our downtown churches to pray for the clergy and parishioners of each congregation. All churches in Rockbridge County and beyond are welcome to attend as we commence our Holy Week celebrations.”
The Alliance will sponsor a Community Easter Sunday Sunrise Worship Service at 7 a.m. on April 9. More details will be included in next week’s paper.
