TRACK Trails Celebrated April 14

On Friday, April 14, three trails in Rockbridge County will officially become part of the Kids in Parks TRACK Trail Program.

On Friday, April 14, three trails in Rockbridge County will officially become part of the Kids in Parks TRACK Trail Program.

With funding provided by the Rockbridge Community Health Foundation, these trails will join a nationwide network designed to engage children and families in outdoor recreation.

Affiliated with the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, Kids in Parks has partnered with other park agencies throughout the country to establish more than 250 trails designed to improve health through connections to nature. The program currently has 25 TRACK Trails in Virginia. Added to the existing TRACK Trail at Natural Bridge State Park, Rockbridge County will boast a total of four TRACK Trails.

The public is invited to join members of Rockbridge Outdoors at 10 a.m. in Raphine at Cyrus Mc-Cormick Farm to open the Marl Creek TRACK Trail; and then at 1 p.m. in Buena Vista at Glen Maury Park double decker pavilion to open the Foxtrot TRACK Trail or at Jordans Point Park in Lexington to open the Woods Creek TRACK Trail, as both will be opened simultaneously.
