High Bridge Presbyterian Church visitors a week ago were Scott Hannah’s sister and family, Ted and Kathy Durham, daughter Ann Neel, son-in-law Matthew Neel, and their children, McKenzie and Carter Neel, all from Roanoke; also, Jake Braford and his two daughters, Lelah and Caroline Braford of Richmond. Jake also spent the weekend with his parents, Bill and Lea Braford.

Linda Trumbo of Covington delivered the sermon on Palm Sunday. She will also be giving the sermon on the first and third Sundays of each month. Noisy Can Offering and Children’s Church were also held on Palm Sunday instead of Easter Sunday.

Jen Brothers from Presbytery of the Peaks in Roanoke will conduct the Maundy Thursday Communion Service, beginning at 7 p.m., April 6. Her husband Carter will be guest musician on mandolin and guitar. He will be accompanied by Donna Armentrout and the choir. Jen will also be providing the service on Easter Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. There will be no Sunday school classes that day.

The children’s Easter egg hunt will be held on Saturday, April 8, from 10 a.m. until noon. Light refreshments will be served by the Presbyterian Women.

Thanks to all who came out to support the Natural Bridge Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday, April 1, for “Breakfast with Easter Bunny.” Also remember the Natural Bridge Volunteer Fire Department’s “31 Day Raffle” to be held the month of May. Tickets are $10 per chance. More news to follow on this but you can call (540) 5700021 for more information.

The Glasgow First Aid will sponsor a drive-thru rabies clinic on April 22 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the first aid building in Glasgow located at 710 McCulloch St. The cost will be $10 cash for a one-year certificate which will be donated to the Glasgow Lifesaving and First Aid. Three-year certificates will be available to those bringing a certificate for the previous vaccination. Call Larry Mayo at (540) 460-6903 with any questions. Also, on April 22, the Glasgow Lifesaving and First Aid will have a cakewalk fundraiser beginning at 6 p.m.

Our sympathy goes out to Ellen McCoy and family in the passing of her father on March 27th in Newport News. He was 99 years old. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Church Scholarship chairperson Linda Wood has announced applications are being accepted from high school graduates and are due by April 17.
