The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) of Rockbridge County will be offering free basic training sessions in Disaster Preparedness and Response Training.
Training will take place at the Fire and Rescue Administration Building (FRAB), 100 Baner Drive, Buena Vista, on April 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27 and 29. Attendance at all sessions will qualify the attendee as a volunteer community emergency response team member but partial attendance is also encouraged.
It is open to community residents age 18 and over. Regular CERT meetings are held monthly.
CERT is a nationally supported, locally implemented program that teaches people how to better prepare for hazards that might affect their community.
