April 3, 2023 Editor, The News-Gazette: In my opinion as a naturalist, the historic riparian area at Jordans Point Park has been environmentally devastated.
Our excellent arborist had an ecologically sound plan, and while she was away and not informed, damaging plant and tree removals were performed. This was utterly out of line with the created plan.
During our time here as humans, we have destroyed much of the natural world, on which we depend. Indeed, every entity on the planet is at risk now. This irresponsible incident at Jordans Point is demonstrative, and must not be allowed to reoccur elsewhere in our gorgeous area.
Therefore, I strongly recommend that the arborist be maintained, and lauded for her highly responsible efforts. We all need to support her role now, and in the future, as a major protector of our local environment.
