The High Bridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery Committee requests that all artificial flowers be removed from the tombstones for the beginning of mowing season.

This coming Sunday, Pam Clabaugh will deliver the sermon. Correction: The Easter Sunday guest minister was the Rev. Jen Brothers of Roanoke, and last Sunday Linda Trumbo of Covington was the guest speaker. Linda will also be giving the sermon on the first and third Sundays of each month. Visitor to church Sunday before last was Linda’s brother, Marion Trumbo of Craigsville.

This Sunday’s sermon was given by Margie Anderson of Big Island and her husband, David, was visitor. The following meetings also took place: the deacons, Pastor-nominating Committee and the Presbyterian Women’s Coordinating Team. During this meeting, the vice moderator, Esther Pennington, installed Courtney Powell Thomas as a member-at-large.

Small Gathering will be held tomorrow, Thursday, April 27, at 7 p.m. in the High Bridge fellowship room with Joe Hawes leading the Bible study. Light refreshments will be served and guests are welcome.

The Evening Circle will meet Tuesday, May 2, at 6 at Esther Pennington’s and Faye Worley will lead the Bible study. Afternoon Circle meets Tuesday, May 9, at 1 with Marie DeVito. Lorna Whisler will lead the Bible study.

Thanks to everyone for supporting the cakewalk fundraiser for the Glasgow Lifesaving and First Aid on April 22. Thanks also to everyone for donating cakes and helping with the cakewalk.

Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church will host a spring bazaar on April 29 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. They will be serving breakfast and lunch, with a bake sale, yard sale, and items made by the Mt. Olivet quilters. Yard sale space is available for $5. Call (540) 254-1353 or (540) 798-8192. Mt. Olivet is located a mile south into Botetourt on U.S. 11.

The Natural Bridge/Glasgow food pantry will be open Saturday, April 29, from 9 to 11 a.m.
