Breast milk as the perfect food for infants will be discussed at the Tuesday, May 9, La Leche League meeting to be held at 10 a.m. in the classrooms of the Grace Presbyterian Church at 40 Village Way north of Lexington.

Breast milk not only provides babies with the perfect balance of proteins, minerals, vitamins, fats and carbohydrates for optimal growth but also contains the antibodies that protect babies against bacterial and viral diseases, said a spokeswoman. Breast milk is also the perfect laxative for babies with constipation being essentially unknown in the breastfed baby, she said.

All pregnant and nursing moms are welcome to attend, as well as babies and small children. For more information or directions, call Cindy at (540) 463-9234 or (540) 464-3110.
