The annual “Day In K” event brought out families with rising kindergartners to Maury River Middle School last Thursday evening. Children were able to meet their teachers for next year, visit with local law enforcement and fire and rescue personnel, and talk with other community partners. Among the scenes were (clockwise from top left) students getting “framed” at the Lexington City Schools station, families picking up hotdogs and other food items, a child getting his face painted, Buena Vista police officers handing out sno-cones, and a youngster checking out a Lexington firetruck.
