The George C. Marshall Foundation will host its annual community open house in honor of the 59th anniversary of the dedication of its building in Lexington on Sunday, May 7, at 1:30 p.m. at its building on VMI post. Activities include tours of the library and archives, artifact show-and-tell, games, door prizes, and refreshments.
The director of library and archives, Melissa Davis, will also present “Marshall and Friends,” a multimedia lecture about the famous faces General Marshall encountered during his illustrious career, including President Dwight D. Eisenhower, future monarch Princess Elizabeth and actress Lucille Ball, at 3:30 p.m. in the Pogue Auditorium.

Last year, the open house featured a well-received lecture by Lt. Col. Jim Dittrich about Gen. Marshall’s aide, Frank Mc-Carthy. A recording of the presentation, available on the Marshall Foundation website and YouTube channel, has reached thousands of viewers worldwide.
