Coming up at Faith Baptist Church is the Ladies Conference on May 5-6 and a Ladies Circle meeting on May 9 at 6 p.m. A Men’s Prayer Breakfast will be held on May 10 at 8 a.m. and the Mother’s Day Breakfast will be on May 13.
Many thanks to Lynn Williams for leading a Morning Prayer service this past Sunday at St. John’s Episcopal Church as well as to Bert Buford and Josh Gardner for providing music for the service. Thanks also to Anne Henderson for providing food for coffee hour! This upcoming Sunday, the service will be Holy Eucharist led by the Rev. Samson Mamour.
Hiker dinners are back at St. John’s Episcopal Church for the 2023 season. The first dinner was this past Monday. The dinners are free and everyone is welcome. Come as you are, Mondays at 6 p.m.
Congratulations to Josh Gardner, Paige Greenberg and Jacob Henson on a successful presentation of their senior project at Virginia Tech’s Deptartment of Materials Science and Engineering. The team presented their work on “Supercapacitor Electrode Materials from Plastic Waste” this past Friday during a poster session for senior projects. Josh is an Arnolds Valley resident and will graduate from Virginia Tech with a bachelor of science in materials engineering on May 12.
