Josephine Cooper “Tiny” Nicely, 93, of Lexington died Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital.

Josephine Cooper “Tiny” Nicely, 93, of Lexington died Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital.

Born Dec. 18, 1929, in Lexington, she was a daughter of John D. Cooper and Eva Eubank Cooper.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Paul Wilson Nicely Sr., and son-inlaw, Tony Webb. Mrs. Nicely was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Tiny was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She worked for over 50 years in food service for various school systems and retired from Waddell Elementary School cafeteria.

Surviving are her children, Paul W. “Buddy” Nicely Jr. (Darlene), Tina N. Hall (Junior) and Vivian N. Webb, all of Lexington; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sailer and the staff at Rockbridge Community Hospital for the care given to their mother.

The funeral was conducted Tuesday, May 2, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Dean Staton. Burial followed at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.
